James clarified that retirement will not be dictated by a specific age or a stat sheet, but rather by his internal motivation. He emphasized that he will continue to play as long as he finds joy in the demanding daily regimen required to compete at the highest level.
«One of the biggest factors as far as when the process for me becomes overbearing, and I don't want to show up to the arena five hours earlier, or I don't want to be at practice two and a half hours before practice start. That's when I know it's in for me,»
he explained.
