The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2026 is reportedly set to feature a star-studded group, including a veteran NBA head coach, two iconic WNBA champions, and a beloved Phoenix Suns standout. According to reports from Shams Charania of ESPN, Doc Rivers, Candace Parker, Elena Delle Donne, and Amar’e Stoudemire have been selected for induction.

A Legacy of Coaching and Play

While reports emerged on Tuesday, the official confirmation is scheduled for Saturday at 12 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The formal induction ceremonies are slated to take place between August 14 and 15.

Milwaukee Bucks coach Doc Rivers is being recognized for a storied career that spans nearly three decades. After a 13-year playing career, Rivers transitioned to the sidelines. He made his mark with the Boston Celtics, leading the franchise to the NBA Finals twice and securing the championship in the 2007-08 season. With stints also including the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Clippers, and Philadelphia 76ers, Rivers boasts an impressive .580 winning percentage and currently holds the sixth-highest number of career victories in NBA history with 1,191 wins.

WNBA Icons Enter the Hall

The class also honors two of the most influential players in women's basketball history, Candace Parker and Elena Delle Donne.

Candace Parker made an immediate impact upon entering the league as the No. 1 overall pick for the Los Angeles Sparks. Her trophy case is extensive, featuring:

  • Two WNBA MVP awards.
  • Two WNBA championships.
  • Rookie of the Year honors.
  • Seven All-WNBA First Team selections.
  • A Defensive Player of the Year award.

Elena Delle Donne also enjoyed a decorated career, quickly rising to stardom with the Washington Mystics. A two-time MVP and champion, she displayed remarkable resilience throughout her career. Despite battling Lyme disease and persistent back injuries that necessitated surgery, she remained a dominant force on the court before officially retiring in 2025.

Amar’e Stoudemire’s Impact

Rounding out the group is Amar’e Stoudemire, whose explosive start in the NBA defined the mid-2000s. Stoudemire began his career with the Phoenix Suns, where his partnership with Steve Nash transformed the team into a perennial contender. His standout 2004-05 campaign—averaging 26 points and nearly 9 rebounds—remains a highlight of his tenure. After successful seasons with the New York Knicks, he eventually solidified his legacy, which was cemented in 2024 when the Suns retired his No. 32 jersey.
