This was exactly the case for Robbin, a grandmother from Mesa, Arizona, and her three grandsons. After purchasing a box of the newly released Topps Chrome Football, they didn’t just find a standard insert; they landed the ultimate prize: the 1-of-1 Josh Allen Gold Shield Autograph redemption card.


The Early Morning Mission

The family’s interest in cards was recently rekindled after they began sifting through old collections. They collectively decided to send the card to auction via Fanatics Collect, with Robbin and her husband planning to split the proceeds evenly among the three grandsons. Rather than diminishing their interest in the hobby, the discovery has only fueled their excitement for future releases.

The Josh Allen card is part of a high-profile lineup at the Fanatics Collect Premier Auction. The event also features a rare Lionel Messi 1-of-1 autograph, with all proceeds from that specific item being donated to the charity Project Sunshine. Kevin Lenane, VP of Marketplace at Fanatics, praised the philanthropic spirit shown by collectors.
