The Quest for Oklahoma City

The path to the Women’s College World Series (WCWS) has entered a critical stage, with the initial field of contenders reduced to the final 16 teams. These programs are now competing in the Super Regionals, aiming to secure their place in the championship event held in Oklahoma City.


The Super Regional round is scheduled to run from Thursday, May 21, through Sunday, May 24. Successful teams will then head to the WCWS beginning May 28, with the ultimate championship series set to take place from June 3-5.

The action kicks off this week with several high-stakes series across the country:


  • Austin Super Regional (No. 1 Texas vs. No. 5 Arizona State): Games begin May 22 at 9 p.m. ET (ESPN), followed by May 23 at 8 p.m. ET (ESPN). A third game, if needed, will be scheduled later.
  • Fayetteville Super Regional (No. 2 Arkansas vs. No. 3 Duke): Play starts May 22 at Noon ET (ESPNU) and continues May 23 at 5 p.m. ET (ESPN).
  • Gainesville Super Regional (No. 2 Florida vs. No. 3 Texas Tech): Game 1 is May 22 at 11 a.m. ET (ESPN), with Game 2 on May 23 at 2:30 p.m. ET (ABC).
  • Knoxville Super Regional (No. 2 Tennessee vs. No. 3 Georgia): Series opens May 21 at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN), resumes May 22 at 3 p.m. ET (ESPN), and a potential decider on May 23 at 11 a.m. ET (ESPN).
