Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nolan Smith Jr. was taken into custody this past Friday in Georgia. According to confirmation from the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office, the athlete is facing formal charges related to reckless driving and speeding.

Law enforcement officials reported that the 25-year-old was monitored traveling at 135 mph on Interstate 16, a stretch of highway where the posted speed limit is 70 mph. Following his processing at the local county jail, Smith was released on bond and is currently awaiting a scheduled court appearance.
