Just as spring weather appeared to have finally taken hold, Colorado experienced a sudden return to winter conditions. This unexpected shift has forced the cancellation of a major outdoor fan gathering organized for the Colorado Avalanche playoff run.

Kroenke Sports & Entertainment issued a formal notice confirming that the 'Avs Alley' watch party, which was scheduled to be held outside Ball Arena, has been called off. Although the event was free to attend, it required prior ticket registration; however, the deterioration of weather conditions across Denver necessitated the cancellation.


Impact of the Approaching Storm

Meteorologists are currently tracking an intense spring storm system moving through the area between Tuesday and Wednesday. The forecast calls for significant accumulations of heavy, wet snow, which is expected to create hazardous conditions for travel and make outdoor gatherings impractical throughout the Denver metropolitan region.


Playoff Momentum Continues Indoors

The timing of the storm is particularly disappointing given the high level of enthusiasm surrounding the team’s current performance. The Avalanche recently secured a decisive 9–6 win against the Minnesota Wild in their second-round series opener. Despite the cancellation of the outdoor event, the excitement remains high for Game 2, which will proceed as scheduled inside Ball Arena.
