LeBron James has officially become the winningest player in NBA history. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar surpassed the previous record held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, amassing a total of 1,229 career wins. This total comprises 1,045 regular-season victories and 184 playoff wins.
While Abdul-Jabbar still holds the regular-season record with 1,074 wins, James is poised to break that mark as well if he continues to play next season. The historic moment occurred during the Lakers' 125-108 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, where James contributed 14 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds.
The game also featured a milestone from Luka Dončić, who scored his 15,000th career point. At 27 years old, Dončić is the third-youngest player to reach that mark, trailing only Kevin Durant and LeBron James.
This achievement adds to James's extensive list of records in his unprecedented 23rd season. He is already the all-time leader in numerous categories, including games played, points, field goals, All-Star selections, and playoff games. He also ranks highly in assists, steals, and triple-doubles.
Despite the historic season, James has also faced challenges, posting some of his lowest career numbers and missing games due to injury, which ended several of his legendary consecutive streaks.
