Beth Mead is officially set to leave Arsenal at the conclusion of her contract this summer. The 31-year-old winger, who has become synonymous with the north London side over the last nine years, is reportedly a top transfer target for the newly crowned Women’s Super League champions, Manchester City.
While no formal agreement has been finalized yet, clubs are prohibited from signing players currently under contract until June 1. Nevertheless, sources close to the Manchester club remain optimistic that a deal will be successfully completed when the window opens.
An Illustrious Arsenal Career
Arsenal confirmed Mead's departure on Monday, marking the end of a decorated tenure that began in 2017 following her transfer from Sunderland. During her 265 appearances for the Gunners, Mead netted 86 goals, helping the club secure one WSL title, three League Cups, a FIFA Champions Cup, and the prestigious 2025 Champions League trophy.

Mead first garnered national attention as a prolific goalscorer, having won the WSL Golden Boot in 2015 at just 20 years old. Her career reached new heights during England's 2022 European Championship victory, where she was awarded both the Player of the Tournament and the Golden Boot.
